Conclusion Russ Williams 19 September 2015 Dr. Daniel Pigg Out of Class Essay #1 Grendel and the Green Knight After going over the tales and the moral of Sir Gawain and the Green Knight and the herculean tales of the legendary Beowulf, the process of discovering brought out the interesting characteristics and actions of the antagonists of both of these tales. These antagonists seemed to have at least some form or way of trying to make a point or statement to a group of people or just one person. For example, in Beowulf, Grendel was hinted at being related to the devil after his bloodthirsty hunt of trying to eliminate the people of Heorot and even trying to kill Beowulf after being lead to all the noise from his nest. In Sir Gawain and the Green Knight, the Green Knight had put Sir Gawain to the test to see if Sir Gawain was the â€Å"worthy† knight that King Arthur and the Round Table had made Gawain to be after he was able to chop off the Green Knight’s head in front of everyone during Christmas time.
